2016 Elk Camp's Let's See Them

Got our camp setup last Saturday. Best time of the year is when I get to sleep in the old wall tent and hunt Elk, not much is better!!

It's bad enough i'm sitting here wondering that maybe I have squatters already living in my tent, I don't need them drinking my beer too

No wall tent, just a mobile camp.  Nothing special, but then not too costly, has heat refrigeration, lights, toilet and water.

Nice looking camp bear, be careful on hitting all that water wouldn't want you to over hydrate, get some electrolytes to.

I figured you'd recognize that place. I called in a 6 by 6 about 50 yards from the deck for kicks. I've never seen so many turkeys in all my life, up that road and all around that place. Very nice place and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We decided to stay there for my husband's quality elk permit in late Sept. I wanted a good secure place for our stuff and we were having friends popping in and out through out the week. Mike shot his elk 5 days into the 8 day hunt then we just chilled out the rest of the 3 days being tourist.

Only addition to camp this year was the new "out building"  I love my Davis tent and Four Dog wood stove.

No, but I have driven off with it up there not tied down (and backed over it once).  I made my bunk out of 2x4s and thin particle board.  Man, is it more comfortable than laying on the folded down middle seats.

no but it does have a few scrapes in the lid. Most of the time it dosent ride there but that's where it goes once the bed is set up.   I call it my bear proof tent

Idaho 2016 5 nights in the truck. The weather turned and was down to 10-20deg at night! Glad I upgraded my sleeping bag was still cold as heck

It was nice meeting you guys also. We got skunked. I still have a cow tag that is good till next Sunday and thinking of going over Saturday for a 1 day hunt.

Good luck on that cow tag.  My brother and the guys did well this year, 2 spikes and a cow. Add my big bull and our group had a great year with 4 elk on the ground. Plus the 2 mulie bucks from deer season.
