Bullets sticking in die
« on: November 13, 2016, 10:07:49 AM »
So last night i was loading up some .22 hornet and occasionally I was having bullets stick in the die. I could unscrew the die and tap it in my palm and the bullet would fall out and sometimes the bullet would then seat properly sometimes it would take a couple tries? Any ideas?

Spritz of case lube. Lay em out on a paper towel, spritz, roll, load.

Sounds like there isn't much neck tension.

Maybe.

If you take a sized case and try to push the bullet in by hand, does it go in at all?

Do as jay suggested and check neck tension.  Take your seating die apart and clean it, check for any burrs and/or debris stuck in it.

I agree, sounds like a neck tension issue. I'd start with the last piece to affect it though and see if to have any crud on the expander ball in the sizing dye.

They are hornady .224" 45 grain. They're hollow point intended for the .218 bee.
