I've hunted with him and my dad use to hunt with him all the time. He is an amazing caller but it got to the point where he just didn't make any effort to find the birds. I'm surprised he is still guiding, he's gotta be getting up there in age.

I had him as a professor at CWU. He was the only part time tenured prof.  He has An amazing record for ducks per hunter day. I tool a calling class from him. I am surprised he is still doing it also.. he said he often guided without a dog and when he did he used a golden retriever.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
