Yup the howler kicks butt for locating but once you locate shut up, get in position and cluck him on in. Been working for me for many many years.

On 1 of my most memorable hunts I killed a gobbler based on someone target practicing.  I was set up in an area for over an hour where I knew the birds liked to hang out.  I was getting ready to leave when I heard a guy start shooting a pistol about a half mile off.  All the sudden the ol' boy starting gobbling his head off.  I sat tight and called him in.  I also located one based on a guy hammering... sounded like he was hitting something on an anvil.  The bird gobble every time he whacked it.

Hear that Wacenturian?  Will that new vest hold an anvil!  :chuckle:  I'll bring the hammer!  LOL  Reminds me of the Rock you put in Don's pack when he wasn't looking! He packed that thing a ways. Intuder I am going to try that new locator call...I got a mini anvil (jewelers) and a hammer... I can see us dragging that thing out there and banging on it....you imagine some turkey hunter walking by and seeing such a sight.  Whatchu boyz doing? LOL  Hammer'em with the Anvil call...OK thats enough...LOL..

"Reminds me of the Rock you put in Don's pack when he wasn't looking! He packed that thing a ways."

Would be more correct to say he packed that rock around all..................day! :IBCOOL:
