Camera lense Maintenance
« on: December 19, 2016, 06:48:19 PM »
I have a Nikon Nikkor 24-120mm lense and when I focus on my subject in manual mode the ring is kind of sticky and I have to play around with it to get it to focus. What can I use to clean the ring? I would like to lube the ring with some sort of dry lube. How do you photographers clean your lenses?

That more than likely is an internal issue. Other than the lens and the inside of the mounting end anything else on my lenses gets sent in to a factory repair shop for cleaning and lubrication. Start adding lubricants incorrectly and in the wrong place, even dry ones, and you are creating a recipe for trouble inside the lens.

Thank you for the information. I will have to send it in for cleaning.
