Hunting from a canoe
« on: December 22, 2016, 07:38:05 PM »
We picked up a canoe tonight and started brainstorming adventures for the springtime. The question came up, can we hunted from the canoe? I found this on the WDFW website -

Violation-
Hunt wildlife from a vehicle or from a boat propelled by a motor (unless the motor is off and progress due to the motor has stopped).

Is there further clarification that I missed because according to that it seems that you would be in the clear.

Yes you can hunt from a canoe. The only restriction is not shooting when the boat is moving from motor power.
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

My hunting partner arrowed a 4x4 bull elk from a moving canoe. A thing of beauty!

I've got over 25 yrs hunting waterfowl from a canoe. Have fun and be safe. I use a homemade dbl ended paddle for more speed and control especially in rough conditions.
