Twas the day before x-mas
« on: December 24, 2016, 04:07:09 PM »
Well I am not a song writer or poet so it is just a story  :chuckle: :chuckle:.  Decided that I needed to go shoot my new .357 and the wife just got a new 20 gauge.  I also just put and new hammer in my AR because I was having troubles with it.  So I load everything up with a couple other toys.  Wife says hey call up the kids and see if the want to come.  Daughter can't but her hubby say sure.  They come by the house and come to find out the grand daughter is with.  7 years old and has really never been shooting except for BB guns.  We head up to the 70 road.  Find a place to setup and lay out the arsenal.  We are in the snow so the grand daughter is having fun.  The wife shoots he 20 gauge a couple times and put a couple rounds through it too.  870's are so nice to shoot.  Load up the AR and it works flawless.  Thanks for all the input from everyone when I was having problems with it.  The wife shot the .380 we got the beginning of this year for the first time.  She loves it.  Ruger GP100 .357 shoots like a dream.  Son in law is puttng rounds down range with the guns to plus his Kimber .45.  Son in law calls the grand daughter over to see if she wants to shoot something.  She says I want to shoot papas black gun  :chuckle:.  We talked with her about safety before heading out but we go through everything again with the gun.  Son in law sets up behind her and sets everything up with her also to make sure nothing crazy happens and helps support the gun.  She sends 3 rounds down range and this kid has the biggest smile on her face.  She runs back to grandma to tell her all about it.  After some more shooting we ask her if she is interested in shooting something else.  Well how about the .380.  Son in law helps her with that and she sends some rounds down range with that to.  I am getting reports from my daughter that when she got home she couldn't stop talking about shooting.

And look at her finger outside the trigger guard like somebody taught her! Looks like a fun, safe outing.
