  I had about an 18 inch drop on that bullet.  I'll have to check the ballistic tables.  I'm just glad the first bullet I grabbed was a 150 instead of a 180,  or a 25-06 for that matter.

Yeah, grabbing a gun and bullet that matched right off the bat was the most impressive part of the story.  You even center punched him, very nice work.

I've shot over 100 coyotes left handed. I don't see what's the big deal.

Nice Shot!  I tried to get out for a few hours last night and try calling in a coyote.  Ended up getting stuck in the snow on a road I knew better than to go down in snow.

In all seriousness, that's a very nice shot. They're not that big of a target to start with, and at 450 they tend to get tiny. Shooting from the side you're not used to is tough. One handed tougher. I can shoot well from either side, but the trigger control just isn't as good. All in all, good shot!

I always loved the line in the movie Quigley Down Under where he shoots the guy with his pistol, just because I said I like the rifle better, it didn't mean I didn't know how to shoot a pistol....or something like that.  Just because I like my bow, it doesn't mean I don't know how to use a rifle.  L"OL    I don't know how you left handed guys do it though.

Well no problem, I matched that load to that rifle shooting left handed, I would expect you to hit him. LOL.  Of course I was using 2 hands and a sand bag.

Nice!! I had to shoot one one time from my left shoulder. Not as easy as you'd thing. Mine was only about 40 yards though and the entry looked like that exit, had the B-tip explode on the shoulder.

I was raised on a dry land ranch that had lots of chipmonks, money was very tight those days.  When I was about 8 years old somebody gave us an old 22 single shot western field rifle. Dad made a deal with me that if I got him 40  chipmonk tails he would buy me another box of shells. I learned to shoot straight, I would only take 3 bullets with me and hunt all day. I didn't shoot unless it was a for sure kill, when I lost the bolt to that rifle up on the side of Gardner peak the year I was a Junior I had accumulated a couple boxes of Ammunition. That was with open sights. That's how I learned to shoot, never learned to throw lead. I wasn't that tight with my kids but I did encourage them to hit what they shot at.

hell of a shot, im left handed and tried shooting right handed on a coyote last year because i had took a baseball to the eye in practice and ended up getting scoped in the right eye. that kind of ended the day hunting, i couldnt see out of both eyes...

I was in my shorts. LOL   Little frosty to recover the kill and makes for better field photos.
I probably would have missed shooting with my right as I probably wouldn't have been concentrating as much

I bet those were the good days Ida!! Sounds like my Uncle and you growing up were alot alike. He was from Texas and when they went out hunting squirrels and came back with less squirrels than the bullets they were given they had to account for it. Definately think there is something to be said for open sight shooting as you have to be more sure of your shot and better technique. I can imagine back then the bucks were all over up the Twisp River drainage back then.
