Arrow Help
« on: February 15, 2009, 05:20:18 PM »
I need help.....I currently shoot Goldtips and am not very happy.  I have not bought new arrows in many years.  I want the best hunting arrow I can find.  I have two bows, one shoots 70lbs (switchback) the other 60lbs (DXT).  Both have fall away rests.  Both are very fast. Is there one arrow that will work for both?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Thanks mossback, I find the goldtips are really inconsistant.  One will shoot great and the other will not.  especially at longer ranges.

easton axis 340s will work for your 70lb setup but maybe be a little to stiff for your 60lb setup. They would still probably work for both but you would probably be better off with the 400s for the 60lb setup.

the "best" hunting arrow depends on what you look for in an arrow..... Either axis or even easton Acc would be the best hunting arrows IMO.. you get what you pay for and the 340 would be fine for the DXT and 300's would be best for the switchback

Sorry, my draw length is 30".  I am trying to only buy one arrow, is that possible, or do I need to by two 300 and 340's???

What problems are you experiencing?  If it's broadhead flight.  What heads are you using?  Some heads just won't fly with some arrows.  Muzzy is the worst I've used with gold tip arrows.  I shoot gold tip myself, but plan on going to the nano axis this year.  Mostly because I'm going to drop spine size, but save the weight.  I like a hard hitting arrow.
