Serial # on ammo
« on: February 16, 2009, 10:02:32 AM »
Not sure if this has been talked about on here yet, I heard it from a friend and then just went to buy a little ammo at Sportsman Warehouse and heard the same thing.  In 2010(or sooner) all ammo sold will have to have a serial # on the cartridge and bullet.  Is this true?  WTF!  What does that do to reloading?  Why would they do that, I thought they already could easily match a bullet with the gun fired or do I watch too much CSI.  Is this just more BS put in by the new administration?  S.W. also said there will be 20% tax on all ammo. :bash: :bash: :bash:

http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/are_states_going_to_require_serial_numbers.html

Some company has the patent on laser stamping ammo so they keep pressing the issue. The link says none of the 30-odd bills proposed has ever made it out of committee.

Lets keep an eye on this one, but its not a huge threat just yet.

Thanks magnanimous.  Looks like its something to look out for but the odds of it not going thru looks to be in our favor.

People, we will not get anywhere if we continue to just complain.  We have to answer with our votes.  That is the only voice we really have.  Just look at what they did with this so called stimulus bill.  Do you think they care about our opinion?  Nope.  We have to keep these people out of office.

300Ultra, the answer isn't always party politics.  Everything is always us vs them with you.  Break outside the mold...

When the Democratic party is no longer lead by a bunch of extremist, then maybe I will.  Until then, I know the enemy and I will continue to call them by name.  It is the Democratic party.  They are both our enemy if you would open your eyes.

I hope you don't get me wrong.  I don't consider myself a Republican.  Republican makes me beholden to a political party.  Parties go through changes all the time.  It makes it hard to not criticize when they make mistakes.  I am a conservative.  I don't believe conservatism could possibly fail.  I just happen to be among most Reagan conservatives who wants to use the Republican party to advance freedom/conservatism.  When Bush screwed us over with all the spending and bailing out these companies, even more government entitlement programs, conservatives were standing against him.  We did not want to see the Republican party become liberalism/socialism light.

With that said, what good does it do to have a cause and not have a party?  I have to be a Republican because the Republican party most closely fits my beliefs system.  I just fight to reign them in when they go off the reservation.  Should I abandon the Republican party when they screw up?  What good would that do?  I would just be left with nothing.  Nope, I have to just keep fighting to try and get them back on the track that I, as a conservative, believe is best.

Until the left quits attacking my gun rights and starts standing up for them, it will always be us vs them.

Sounds like a script from the Sean Hannity show...

Anyways, no legislation is close to being passed for coding of ammunition.  This would be so hard to track it's ridiculous.

lol

If you had said Rush, I would have taken it as a complement.  Sean is a good guy, but he has a lot to learn.  He has time...

Close or not, the fact that the idea is out there should be enough to let us know that they continue to come after us from every direction.  It is just a wake up call to let us know what they are thinking about.

When liberals claim that we are over worrying about "stuff"....simply ask them this:

What should people like myself be concerned of losing with the liberals in charge? See what they say.

You should be worried about losing military spending, pointless wars, low taxes for the rich, a huge national deficit, protection from shows like Howard Stern or anything else the FCC finds objectionable, etc.

Well, I'll let you know when I see a pointless war.  Oh, maybe you mean the one that these Islamist started against us?  Perhaps you are one of those uninformed people that believe Iraq and 911 are not related?  FYI Bush never said that Saddam was involved in 911; however, Saddam was already on our *censored* list and 911 sealed his fate.  Any reasonable president who took those attacks on 911 seriously would have done the same thing... including Clinton.  After all, Clinton is the one who signed the Iraq Liberation Act.

Also, I believe we have the second highest corporate tax rate in the world and that most people don't get to be "patriotic" by paying their taxes in the first place.   Further, I believe we have been telling you about the Democrats driving up our baseline budget in less that 3 weeks of Obama's 1 and only term; which unlike the one time bill of the war in Iraq, this stimulus bill (cough cough) will bankrupt our children and their children.

In addition, trying to stop the FCC from get filth off of the airways would be way the hell down on my list of priorities.   :bash:
