Slicksticks for moving safe

Does anyone know where to buy these or some ideas if you have made your own? The only place I can find them only sells to company's and security agency's/government

If your safe isn't thousands of pounds, I would get large furniture sliders from the hardware store.

If you're handy you could make some. Amazon sells some products you can use.


If you have stairs to traverse, Sunbelt Rental has a 1500 stair climber dolly for $171 after taxes. I recently used one to move a 600+ pound safe from one city to another.

NW safes delivered it for around 150 bucks since I bought it from them

How much does the safe weigh? We used one of these for a smaller, 500lb, safe and it worked fine

NW Safe quoted me over $400 to pick up, deliver 30 miles away and install and it wasn't even same day.

Wood dowels work & are cheap

I have moved my Cannon 50 many times with wood closet dowels. Piece of cake. Surprising how little effort

I used the large furniture sliders to move mine by myself. I could push it with one hand just fine. Going down stairs got a little tricky, i just laid in on its back and slid it down. This is after disintegrating a heavy duty dolly trying to move it, LOL

It depends on if you're just moving it out of the way, or moving it to a completely new location. 

NW safe moved mine from house to house, it cost around $400 if I remember correctly because they charged me drive time.

Moving out of the way in house for painting we were able to move about 2,000lbs of safe on a set of three lengths of conduit, just me and one other person pushing once I spend the time to slip the conduit under the safe body.
