Powder Volume to Weight

Well, it was pouring like heck here today and boredom has set in.  I remember a post on one of the forums about the accuracy of the graduation marks on BH209 tube - how accurate they might be if used for measuring.  So just for drill I decided that what the heck let's find out!

I always load with a volume measure and over time I think I have become very consistent at using the measure...  I also decided besides testing BH which I use sparingly I would also test T7-2f for volume.

T7-3f and the pictured volume measure + consistently filling the measure works very well for me also!

So if you take the average weight of a particular load and weigh each load for your speed loaders, do you think it would make a difference in accuracy?  It would eleviate the crude volume measurement.

I believe... the weight of the thrown loads were so consistent for each type of volume measure.  I really doubt with all the external factors in shooting a ML you would see very little difference in accuracy for each group of shot.  As you look through the print out if you were to use the tubes you would be loading a more potent load than the same 120 grain volume from the brass measure.  So I really think the accuracy would not be effected.

Shooting caps with T7 really doesn't create a 'crud ring' unless you have a petroleum product in your barrel. I use synthetic oils for that reason since I shoot so much T7.

Using 209 primer will cause a 'crud ring' in the bore with T7.

The one really good thing about BH - no crud ring and no need to patch between shots, but again with percussion caps and T7 no need to patch either.
