I just purchased a savage recon. The gun itself has a very well made feel to it. It came with blackhawk flipup sights. They should have just kept them and knocked off $100. What cheap pos sights. The plastic is very cheap and the sights flex badly even when tightened. The front can not even be lowered enough to sight in at 25-50 yards. with the blade adjusted all the way down it is still 14" low at 25 yards. I have optics on the way so not a huge deal but i wanted to shoot some this weekend and couldn't even enjoy it because of these sorry excuse for sights.
The blackhawk sights retail for the same amount as magpul mbus flipups and are nowhere near the quality. Anyway rant over. I will update with a review when i get some decent sights.
