Tough clam digging this weekend at copalis.
« on: March 26, 2017, 12:10:37 PM »
Anyone else go clam digging Saturday at copalis?  We had a total of 10 people in our group, with me being the only one to limit. A total 31 between us all, toughest dig I've ever seen.  I had chest waders which made it possible to go out farther to get my limit but closer in it was very tough.  The weather was really nice, still had a great time, fresh razor clams for breakfast this morning.

I got my limit in about 15 mins.  They weren't showing at all until you pounded them up.
For anyone reading this thread I live here and am always happy to show new diggers how-to when I'm around.

I think we started a bit too early, usually it's off the hook.

I didn't get out until almost low tide.  That probably was the difference.

I agree, one person went out just before we left which was pretty late, they got 8 in 10 minutes.

Between my fam and buddies we got 11 limits in about an hr. They didn't start showing till about 445. Still had to look for em though. Ever time I pulled one i had the kid watching cause another 3-4 holes would show. Chest waders helped for sure. The surf didn't let up much which did make it a little harder than normal. Nice day though.
