Someone talk me into this. Lot of money for rings. Just got my vx6 and I'm pretty hard on the gun mountain biking

My only decision would be 4 or six screw.  If you have a 2k scope, 2k gun why sqibble over $100 one way or the other.

Im putting these on my new build (well at least 4 screw)

So you would go with the 4 instead of 6? The 6 is only 1 ounce more though

With a rail I'm trying to see if the low mounts would work. Nightforce said with a 42mm optic the low mounts should have no problem clearing. I'm more worried about the bolt. Currently has talley medium height on there right now. I figured with the extra height of a rail the low should be fine to clear. I guess just send them back if they don't fit

I have the NF rings (4 screw) on a few of my rigs. I have had no issues. The 6 screw would be useful with a ATACR and heavy recoil. What scope are you running?

It's a leupold vx6 2-12 CDS. Really light rifle but doesn't kick bad just a 308 I figure the more surface area the better for rings if they are only 1 ounce heavier

IMO the 4 screw is more than adequate for your set up. I'm using the low rings on my NXS 5.5-22X56 with a rail and varmint taper barrel. I would expect the lows will work fine for your set up. If not midway will exchange.

You shouldn't buy those rings at all.

You should buy ARC rings.

(American Rifle Company)

Easiest rings I've ever worked with.

ARC are VERY nice.  Their Mausingfield action will be the backbone of my next project.
