Koke addicted
« on: April 01, 2017, 04:56:49 PM »
Just started fishing for these last spring. Only went a few times and never hooked up. Dana and I went this last Friday trolling Merwin. At one point I thought I'd check my bait. As I'm retrieving it Dana starts saying your tangled in my line. That's not me you have a fish. Well for at least a minute anyway  :chuckle: After a couple hrs we went to a different area and BOOM! Caught my first kokanee of many I hope. Dana missed 3 or 4 but it brought out her competitiveness. It was great .

Still waiting to hook my first one. Now that my boat is all set I just need to get past my wife's doctor appointments to get out and play with all the toys.

If any of you are looking for a summer Koke trip Lake Koocanusa north of Libby Mt has some pretty good Koke fishing.  A couple of years ago when we did it, they were smaller than Chelan's but there is miles and miles of lake and very few boats

We were long lining 100-125 feet depth in the 10-20ft column, speed was average 1.5  ;)

ric now that's a keeper

I'm at American Lake right now, been here since daylight. Not a single bite. Seems nice schools on the Sounder but nothing's taking anything.
