Lower Snake River Boating Adventure

I was thinkng about doing a boat trip up the lower SnaKe, putting in at Tri-Cities and heading upstream, locking through the dams and heading to Lewiston/Clarkston. I know there's some Army Corp of Engineer land along the river to camp at, but how are the other amenities - plenty of places to gas up  if needed? How long would a trip like that take if I wanted to take my time and do some fishing along the way, but had a sled that could cruise at 30 MPH when I wanted to make some time?

Patience is a virtue.  Tugs and barges can spoil your day, really big and really heavy.  Locks have been down longer than expected, big back logs.

The only places I know where to fuel up are Lyons Ferry Marina, Boyer Park and then Lewiston/Clarkston.  I don't know down river very well so there may be a few places down there.

As for amenities, there are a few campgrounds along the river.  On the right hand side of this page there's info on a bunch of the Rec sites

From Tri Cities to Lyons Ferry contact Tri-Rivers Natural Resources Office at Ice Harbor.

Little Goose is the only one closed right now, like said before, should open soon. And everyone above them is going to be wanting to move since being shut out since Dec. Everyone below has been moving for several weeks now.

I know there was a boating outfitter in lewiston/clarkston that would rent you a jetboat for a downstream tour and then pick you up in the tricities area. You might call around to find them and see if they would share info they have. This was during the Lewis and Clark bicentennial in 2004-2006 so I do not remember the name of the company.
