According to the book I am reading:
Sabot is pronounced "sah-bow" not "sah-butt". Apparently it is a term the French used for wooden shoes worn by peasants. Now the word means bushing.
Gathering is easy. Hunting is a challenge.

Thats what the gun nuts at work tell me.....but you sound like a Frenchy saying it that way.....shoot powerbelts and you don't have to worry about it=)

Yes I know that but often I will just say it the wrong way otherwise people look at me funny and don't know what the hell I'm talking about. Kind of like when you pronounce "Leupold" the correct way.  :rolleyes:

Oh I agree. For 30 years I called my pre-64 Sako rifle, "sayko", but now I am told it should be "socko".
Needless to say, I can not rename it after a pair of socks.
