Golden trout
« on: April 16, 2017, 01:20:21 PM »
I've heard some rumors and stories about there being a few places in WA with Golden's....

Rumor or fact?

They are up there in a few places. The searching is most of the fun, since most aren't huge. Good luck!

Two lakes in Region 3 have them, Bauer Lake in the Bumping drainage, and Park Lakes in Kittitas-never been to Park Lakes.  Love to know how you do if go to them.  Beautiful fish.

Truth we (TrailBlazers) Stock several lakes a year with Goldens. You can look on the WDFW website to find out which lakes we stocked with them.

Totally a bucket list fish for me...

Caught marlin, massive ling's and butts, but... These still stand out as a trophy fish to me.

The goal is do get one on my grandfather's bamboo fly rod

Geez no kidding.  I absolutely forgot one that I've been to-Warm Lake, and there's a bunch more in Kittitas.  As far as I know, the Twin Sisters experiment failed-been there numerous times but have never caught one.

I highly recommend a trip to Wyoming! I did a week long backpacking trip with my oldest brother, specifically for golden trout. We caught 50!! Wind river mountain range...one of the most beautiful places I have EVER been. Here's a couple pics. Unforgettable trip. Would love to catch some in Washington as well.

:yeah:  Fishing Honey Hole!!  Didn't have my pole with me last year.  Don't have a tag this year.  Might just be a fishing trip.  And the beauty is a religious experience.
