Old school cool.

As of late, I have found myself enjoying simplicity more and more. It's much to easy as a young gun (relative to my online compatriots), to get sucked in to buying the newest, and coolest of outdoor toys. I'm ready to simplify. I have become engrossed in reading about single shot 45-70's. We are talking Sharps, rolling block, and Springfield trapdoor type rifles. Due to being on the west side, I'm leaning more towards a carbine length, but rifle length isnt out of the question. Especially knowing that if I do my job, I could hit something at 900 yds, without a fancy pants scope. The thought of that gives me an itch between the shoulder blades, like it has to happen lol. Do you own one? Have you shot one? Chime in and spill your guts! I wanna hear about it.

Here is a picture of my Taylor's & Co., Armi Sport, 1874 Sharps, 45-70. Hand loaded 405gr. hard cast ,36gr. IMR-3031,very accurate load, have taken a Buffalo in Montana, and some long range shoots with this load.

For busting brush you'd be better served with a SS Guide gun. I've shot different variations of 45-70's and I personally would not to pack one around the in the brush that's up to shooting out to that 900 yard mark. I also wouldn't consider the sights guys use to shoot that far low tech.
