My biggest compliant and reason that I don't typically put in for it is because of the one day hunt. If it were even three days I bet a lot more folks would be all over it. I have seen some great bucks in that country over the years.

If you buy 5 tickets you get one free. So for $125 you have a really good chance of getting a really good deer. There were only something like 68 applicants last year. Not sure how many tickets. Lots of misconceptions about buckrun. I will just say they are good people. Also he puts hunters in locations based on having a successful hunt. He doesn't steer anyone away from big deer. Hunter success is based on their own effort.

I personally know several of the other large landowners in the area and your opinion that they are good people is far from universal.  There are other farmers in the area that have had some land deals/crop share deals with Dave that will probably never work with him again.  As far as the deer are concerned, they've calmed down a bit but they definitely participated in some blatantly unethical/illegal practices in the mid to late 90's in an effort to control deer herds in the area.   I'm not saying you can't have a great hunt out there as there are lots of quality animals, that is beyond dispute, But there are far more likable people in the area and even within their extended family.

The OP was asking about a deer raffle not past business deals. Anyone that is drawn will be treated with respect and have a great hunt/time. If that is what they want out of it.  :twocents:

Honestly might be your best shot at a decent buck in Washington this year.  Private holdings will tip the scales of success Im afraid.
