Lost points?
« on: May 24, 2017, 08:28:20 PM »
Since the switch to the new system I have been in contact with WDFW about points being lost for myself and daughter.  I have been putting in for bull elk since I got my license (9 years old) and now 29 and my points show I have 1 point... same with sheep, goat and moose.  They keep telling me they have no way to look up my points totals from last year and they cant do anything about it unless I provide proof that was from WDFW that states how many points I had before the system switch.  My daughter has not drawn a tag at all and I have put her in for every available tag and this year she has 0 points and should have 5..... Has anyone run into this problem? have they been able to resolve it? I can deal with losing my points but I'm not happy about my daughter losing her points.

Any help is appreciated.

I would not deal with losing your points either.....  Thats 20years of the state taking your money and basically stealing it from you by taking your points....  I would think about talking to a lawyer if there is no resolution from the wdfw....

It seems to me they had a responsibility to dump data from the old system before conversion, to avoid situations as this. It's actually hard for me to believe they didn't. I would work up the chain before concluding the data is lost for good.  If it is, then do you have any credit card statements or checks indicating that you made any payments for applications? If you can find any documentation of payments then I would hire a lawyer and go after them. I believe that a judge or jury would believe it was their obligation to keep track of points, not you.

So it's looking as if I should not trash any of  those  submission confirmation statements or any printed pages of my points totals from the old system eh?  (since they show points totals at the time)

I am pretty sure that my son had some of his points lost as well. We have been putting in for years and yet some how he has a different number of buck, quality buck, and sheep but not moose?? I assumed there would be no way to dispute it as I have dealt with the game department for years and I have never come out on the winning end  :dunno:. This is his last year as a youth so by the time it was fixed it would be for not anyway, just disappointing. He also had two accounts for some reason and the WILD ID was not the same on them. Not a great deal by any means but it is what it is. Just hope he draws one or two this year.

If you login to your WDFW WILD account and click on the Order History tab you can see everything you've purchased, both online and in stores, all the way back to 2011. You can click "Select" on the far right of each purchase and it breaks it down for what was specifically purchased. Licenses, special permit apps, etc. I thought I lost a Quality Deer point but it turns out I didn't apply in 2013. I called WDFW 5 separate times before someone had the knowledge to show me this trick for checking purchases.

Mine shows the same way. I expect this year's points will be added when (before) the draw is run.

Mine says "last updated 12/18/2016" for all my points.

So just because it's not showing your added point doesn't mean you're not going to get it.

The only place I see the 5/31/2017 date is where I have zero points.
