Mossberg 935 reviews anyone?
«

Started shopping for a new duck gun recently, have shoulder and fondled just about everything they make now
So I've got it narrowed down to a couple guns I really liked, the versamax pro waterfowl, and the mossy 935 pro waterfowl.
I don't really want to spend 1500$ on a shotgun, and honestly the Mossberg felt better to me when shoulder, though its build quality and fit/finish were not as nice.
TriStar also released a new gun, the viper max, at shot, and it looks really good for a lower end gun.
So does anyone use a 935? Love it? Hate it?
The overbored barrel inrigues me, and seems to pattern pretty good from my online research. Anyone with first hand experience there?
Guns going to be used for ducks, geese and turkeys. Don't Care that it won't cycle 2 3/4, I've got a 870 and an 11-87 for that. I do want a 3.5" gun, cause I don't own one, though I've been able to do everything with 3" so far.

I want gas operated, it may come down to me just buying the versamax, or taking a chance on the TriStar, everyone either loves or hates the 935!

i think the late iceman used and liked them. they always intrigued me, supposedly the 835 and 935 throw outstanding patterns due to the 10 gauge barrel.
wish i would have bought one to try out when they were still $399 at walmart. saw what they go for now and my jaw about hit the floor...

You cans till find em for a reasonable price if you shop around, the model I'm looking at is between 6-700 online, ill probably just buy it in store though, was quoted 689 at a LGS in hermiston, by the time I shipped a 600 gun to wa, payed transfer and tax, I might as well give the money to the small shop.
Anyway you look at it, a name brand 3.5" seki in camp is gonna cost ya some coin lol

Stay far away from Tri Star I just don't want you to waste your money. Others on here will stay Turkish guns are fine now, look at reviews Tristars from people who have actually owned them

I wouldn't buy one. I had one for a few years and it would cycle slow after a few shots when it was below freezing. Also missed some ducks due to light primer strikes. It did pattern very well thou. I would stick to a Winchester SX3 sportsmans had them on sale for 699. I've gone back to a pump. Ive seen $600-$1400 semi autos turn into single shots when it gets really cold.

I wish i liked that sx3, it's a hell of a deal right now. It just doesn't feel right to me, and doesnt point we'll for me.
I've read alot of mixed reviews on the TriStar, my stepmom has a youth model 20 that is pretty decent from my first study of it, but it hasnt been used much, or very hard.
Maybe it's time to go back to the drawing board, and just be ok with spending more on a shotgun then I originally wanted to.
