I didn't see anything about him being a bad person.

Maybe you are so use to the wolf spin that you don't see the core issue for rural folks, ranchers etc..

I just had a feed in my FB, that talked about the caribou and only 12 left in Washington.     I wonder how much of that is due to wolves?

Non hunting city folk watch a 'documentary', or movie that anthropomorphises wolves
And they are experts.
Wolves are apex hunters, and breed much faster than the 'experts' claimed.

Wolves definitely impacted the herd.  Cougars are a major predator too, it's tough to tell which has a bigger impact.
