Ya, My Dad use to noodle in his day till he grabbed ahold of a water mocasin. He said it wasn't much fun after that. :chuckle: :chuckle:

I guess that is the nice part of noodling up here, you don't have to worry about those snapping turtles and water mocasins. But I still don't think I can do it, I get enough of a rush hooking and fighting them. Wish I could of seen a few that I broke off.

Last week of May first week of June would be fun, I would like to join if I could. I've had good luck at the mouth of the Palouse, camping at Lyons Ferry. Great spot, lots of spots to camp, and they have a good little restaurant. I would bring down a 17' Alumaweld works for a couple guys. Could be fun. That could be our eastside meet. Heck I would be willing to bring my gass BBQ and we could have a geat time.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

The mouth of the Tucanon has good bank access with cats holding just off of it for bank fishing and in the spring they actually go up into it to spawn. Plus you can camp there and I think there is a launch there. I would have to check on the launch but I know there are several good holes out in front of it for anchoring. When we went to Lyons Ferry this year we talk to the guy that empties all the fish cans at all the cleaning stations and he was taking out a 55 gal pale every day from that site. Would be a good spot to looking into.

I think we should tentatively say the last week of April the first week of June. That has been the best catfish time in the past for me because of the spawn. The key depends of weather and run off. That is why I really don't think we should set a firm date until it gets closer. Weather down on the Snake can get bad. Big storms that time of year.

We will make a post as it gets closer. I have state track on Memorial day weekend, last year I went the week after and did good. I think we should get as many people involved as possible. Maybe make a small tournament with cool prizes.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Teacherman is right on about the weather. We have always went the first week of june but it can blow really hard. Last year it blew so hard we had a cabelas guide model tent that it took three guys to hold down to get more tie downs to to keep it from blowing into the river. I have a 23 foot alumaweld that I would be willing to take if anyone wanted to fish out of a boat. I have a friend who works at a cannery and we really did good on salmon hearts.  By the way teacherman did you ever find out what a 300 savage was worth.
