Micca Peak Moose
« on: July 20, 2017, 10:07:22 PM »
Hello, My buddy drew this cow moose tag and now has found out it is very limited for access. Does anyone know any land owners who might let him hunt their property or have access to the unit? He is willing to pay a trespass fee etc. Thanks in advance for any info. You can also PM me.

Inland Empire Paper owns a big chunk of land in the unit on Mica Peak itself. It used to require a permit, which in 2006 when my dad had his moose tag was $30 per person. But back then you could take ATV's in behind the gate. Now it's no motorized vehicles allowed, and I believe it no longer requires an access permit. There's plenty of area up there to hunt, just know where the boundaries are, and be prepared to pack a moose out 3 to 4 miles.

IEP still requires a permit. At least they do on their properties north of Spokane. Permit went up to $50 this year, which is still a steal considering the amount of land you gain access to.

There is a section of DNR on the northside of the hill as well.  The hunt isn't what it used to be so be prepared to work for it.
