12v plug in heater?

12v cigarette plugs can only carry so much amps, no matter what heater you get it's not going to make much of an impact on the heat inside your vehicle.   It'll thaw out a peep hole in your window if it's frosted up, if you put in on the dash right in front of the windshield, but it won't noticeably warm up the inside of the cab.

My old diesel truck will not warm up when I park at the top of a mountain and unload snowmobiles, ride hard all day long then on the ride back to the truck I freeze my sack off, I get them loaded up and I'm literally steaming when I take the jacket off and freezing.  Then I climb in the old dodge and freeze my sack off all the way down the mountain, of course you always park at the top right, older diesels run pretty cool going downhill     

So I researched 12v plug in heaters....found out that if I really want heat then I need to take the mr. buddy heater.  It has low 02 sensor but it'll flat cook that cab, so I'll turn that on and fire the engine then load the snowmobiles and it's warm by the time I'm ready to roll and I can turn it off or turn it down low until I get off the mountain and actually burning enough diesel to warm up the engine.

what brand UTV?   They have after market heaters that use the engine heat, little heater core you can mount somewhere in the cab that pulls heat out of your coolant line.

I have one of the big ones and a small one just for utv. Both get way to hot and will melt my windshield or plastic seat/dash etc.

Block the air flow to the radiator some so it will run hotter. Better for the truck and the heater.

Out of all the bells and whistles the Can Ams  have they can't engineer proper heating?  Maybe they know people will have to buy the 450$ heat option. You might find a wrecked one with the 450$ option and pull it off?

I have one that never gets hot. Got to defrost the rear window in my nova ended up just being a waste of money.

Go to Summit and look up heaters.  150$, a real heater.  I will be ordering one very soon with the $30 defrost kit.  You will also need to buy thermostat housing with extra barb for hose.  This is the cheapest and best way.   https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-991102-1
