I believe he said it would frequent their property often.  I believe this is a more recent photo of the bull that he posted.  I chatted with the guy for a little bit and I was saying how it was sad that this bull ended up getting hit but I hoped he got to spread those genes around and he said there is definitely one of this bulls offspring that has the same caliber of headgear roaming the area as well so thats good to here but hopefully he doesn't meet the same fate.

That very well may be the largest bull elk I have ever seen alive. Too bad it was after it was already hit. What a shame.

I am really glad someone got to salvage it though. I like that new law.

Beautiful animal. Sad to see it ran over, but glad to hear it didn't got to waste.

That blood was from his antlers (which were still in velvet and growing). He had just been hit by a Saturn VUE near SR 169 south of Maple Valley. He was then shot by a WSP Trooper while my buddy, a KCSO deputy, watched. I have seen pictures, which my buddy took a metric ton of them (the elk was a 9x10) and have seen the incident report (KCSO didn't draw a case as this was a WSP collision).

This was real and the blood was also real and not photoshopped.

Do drop tines and irregular points come and go with different years on the same animal??

I don't know enough about antler growth, but the roadkill bull has a big cheater point coming off his left G1, and no drop-tines.  Are we all talking about the same animal?

All of the locals say this was the same bull. I just know this bull that was killed was a main frame 9x9 with that big cheater (inline)

I'm mostly asking out of curiosity.  Either way, it's an unfortunate end for a magnificent bull.  I'm glad a lot of people will get to enjoy the meat, though

Just got another scoop on this.  My mother in laws boyfriend had this sucker in his backyard for a long time. I saw a picture of him about 2 seasons ago. He was with about 14 cows.  They would come up to about 100 yards from his porch.  He grew from a 7 point.  One of his customers was there when it happened.  Nuts!  If only I knew how to shoot a bow, I could have had at least a chance to hunt him... :bash: :bash: :bash:
If I'm not selling, I should be hunting, If I'm not hunting, I should quit!
