Just got back from Curlew. I've never seen it so bleak for grouse (and deer as well). We went out for 3 days straight in morning and evenings and only got 3 grouse between the 8 of us. Really weird, never seen it like that. I'm blaming it on the dry weather  . A couple of the guys seen a decent bull moose and 2 teeny tiny cubs that looked as though they been waiting for mom a little too long (we think she was probably killed) probably not going to survive too long .

We did pretty good in Idaho. 10 in 3 days. Saw several others, they were just faster than the boys.

Dave, I've noticed that none of your pictures have dogs in them. Do you run "naturally"?

Yes it is. That is the first bird we've killed with it. It appears that the choke may be a little to "open". He missed with the 22 barrel, then took a shot where most of the bird was covered by a log. It then flew into a tree where he shot it again with the 20ga. Upon inspection, we discover feathers where he first shot it with the 20.

I own one and love it for grouse hunting, looking forward to watching my boys use it.

Saw the biggest herd  of Blues at about 4500'. Must have been at least a dozen. I'm sure it was a couple hens with their off spring.
