Time to get your own bugle tube built
« on: August 20, 2017, 04:41:08 PM »
https://greatdaysoutdoors.com/category/westernexposure/  Here's a little blog on building your own tube.  Takes 30 minutes and a few bucks.  I know a lot of you already build your own tubes but this is for those who want a little garage project.

Just made my own last week! Tested it against my hunting partner's Phelps... bingo!
Used a sleeve off an old Cabelas long long sleeve tee for the cover.

LOL, Hey CC that old camo is hard to throw away.  How much did you spend on building your own tube?

I did this last year,

1. Cut up 2 kids toys from dollar tree - 2.00
2. Shoe laces from boot - free
3. Duct tape to hold pieces together - free
4. Cloth from old camo shirt - free

About 30 min.

Glad I'm not the only one out there taking miter saw to fat-bat this year! I covered mine in realtree duct tape and will add some elastic cord for a sling.

It does, I used it a little last year to practice on but didn't take it out as it was to bright and shiny. I used camo cloth and tape from an old hunting shirt and what you see is what you got. i spent a few bucks on tape and 2 bucks on the toys.

I just built one out of a whiffle ball bat, lined the inside and out with Flex Seal spray.  :chuckle:  The spray toned down the plasic echo.  It sounds better than any commercial bugle that I have used. I can even fit my E.L.K Power Bugle mouth piece on it.
