I've been looking at these pistols and have a question, all I know about 1911 type pistols is that they're commonly carried cocked and locked. I understand how with the grip safety this is completely safe. But without a grip safety how are those pistols carried?

My P938 has an external safety.

Right, but do you carry it hammer back and safety on? Half clock safety on?
