so i'm out splitting firewood today at our new house. we bought the property in may of 2016 and had a house built this past spring. in February we fell a couple doug firs that were close to where the home was to be built. Cut them up in rounds and just left them in piles. Finally decided to get the piles split and maybe sell the wood. using a borrowed electric splitter i saw something embedded in the center of one of the rounds. this particular round was over 18" in diameter and once i carfully split the round found this bullet. appears to be about a 22 caliber ? like i said it was at least 9" into the round of wood and could not see any damage to the wood from where the bullet had entered. i have not shot anything into these rounds and can't belive that a bullet of this small of diameter could have made it's way over 9" into a doug fir tree. Wondering how long this piece of lead has been imbedded into this tree...kinda cool to think about
