Rail and scope ring height for Ruger American Predator
« on: October 24, 2017, 07:25:26 PM »
Hey all, I recently purchased a Ruger American Predator in 6.5C. Here is my plan: put a EGW 20moa rail, and mount a Vortex Viper HS-T on the Vortex Precision Matched rings. My question is what height of rings should I get? The 0.87 inch or 0.97 inch (medium)?? I have the medium height with the same scope on my Howa .308, but curious if the lower rings would make much difference?  Thanks!

The mediums will work fine.

You want the low rings. The shape of the American stock needs the scope mounted as low as you can get without touching the barrel.

That is the word I got from Vortex. I have the medium rings on my Howa 308, but may try the low rings on the Ruger.
