Magnus Broadheads
« on: October 31, 2017, 03:48:23 PM »
Just picked up a new bow (to me). Prior to purchase, I did a bunch of research and everything that I've found made it seem like Magnus has some good products.

I'm especially partial to the Stinger 125 grain 4 blade broadheads linked here: http://www.magnusbroadheads.com/stinger-125-grain-4-blade-broadhead-2-3-16-x-1-1-8-3-pack/

Anyone had experiences with these, good or bad?

Ive been shooting them for a long time and have been happy. They fly straight & kill critters.

As far as a COC head, I think they are outstanding.  Only issue you may have is getting them to fly true and group with field points.  That is a lot of surface area.  Just make sure your bow is tuned as well as it can be and stay within your max  comfortable distance.  Good luck with them!

I have been hunting with Magnus for many years.  Recurves, compounds they do well for me.  I agree with the tuned equipment comment however I have found many broadheads require that as well. They will shoot as well as a field point at distance. They perform fantastic and I have never been letdown on there toughness. You can't beat the lifetime guarantee and I have made use of it many times after blasting through elk.  I have noticed when you have a clean pass through with a COC broadhead the animal hardly knows they have been shot.  Since I have switched to Magnus I have witnessed more animals fall within view. It has taken me years to find what I like in my setup and these work for me.  Like any gear everyone has a reason why they choose it.  I bought all kinds of heads and ended up liking these for my recurve setups and kept it for my compounds.  Shoot what shoots well for you and go with it.

I think Magnus makes some really nice Broadheads, I have taken several elk and deer with the Magnus Buzz Cut.  I will be shooting the Magnus 125 Buzz Cut or Magnus 125 Black Hornet Ser-Razor.  I purchased the Iron Will Broadhead and all three of these fly with my field points.

Because I am only pulling 53 pounds I believe that a cut on contact head will be the best for penetration
