NEW BOW
« on: March 04, 2009, 07:18:53 PM »
So today i went down to Archery World and shot a couple bows. I went there planning on looking and maybe trying one out. I shot the Hoyt Alpha Max 32, Katera, a new matthews. The funny thing is after shooting them all I went to the back  where I first saw the alpha max. I then picked it up and bought it right then there with no hesitation. I had no intentions of buying a new bow but once it was in my hand and I fired it a few times there was no way I could put it back and part with it. This probably should have waited till I had the cash to spend because I think I just spent my bill money :o but I just couldn't pass up the price on the package.

Has anyone out there shot a bow that they just fell crazy for?

I am amazed with the New Hoyt Alpha Max 32.- Its supper fast, light, quiet, No hand shock at all big difference then my last BowTech.

Got lucky at the local shop, the hoyt rep was there trying to sell the shop on carrying them, I got to shoot them all. I am a Bowtech guy. The Alpha Max 32 and 35 were awesome!!!! Very impressive. Smooth, quiet, and fast. But I'm not changing.  :dunno: :dunno: :chuckle:

Diamond Razor Edge.... I have to admit I went back and forth between the edge and the razor edge... I still think they shot about the same but I liked the larger range in poundage.  But with all the others i shot that was my favorite hands down.

Yes the Bowtech Admiral.  I am completely head over heels in love with that thing.  And it's a cool $100 cheaper than the AlphaMax.  I liked the Alpha Max but it was about the same as the Admiral and the Admiral was cheaper.  I also thought the Admiral was a tad bit smoother with less shock.   :twocents:

Congrats on your new bow.  I'm sure you'll love it.

Thanks colockumelk .I did like the Admiral but I felt the other way around about the handshock which wasn't much it truly is a great bow.IMO. I did have a bowtech till yesterday and would not have minded getting another but the shop I go to ended up selling my old bow so that money carried over to my new one and the shop dosnt carry bowtech anymore :dunno:. All in all I really love my new hoyt Alpha max. Whos ready to hunt now?

Did I read that pic correctly.  A fully set up Alphamax for $950.  Where the heck is that that's a good deal.  The Hoyt place around here has them bare bones for $850.

Congrats on your bow.  No matter what both of them shoot really really well.  I'll be getting mine in June.  Until then all I can do is

Thanks. Yeah you did read correctly plus 10 % off if you buy one before the end of feb. @ Archery World in Vancouver WA, really a great shop.  They have a few bow packages for the Alphamax and katera plus others. You will love it when you get yours. All I need now is some arrows and I need a little help with that anyone know about Easton ST Exicels?

So Hoyt that's your shop?  And it's fully set up for $935?  Wow that is a great deal considering in yakima a bare bones one is 850.  What exactly comes on that bow package?  I might have to take a trip over there and purchase one.
