Pack Rod
« on: March 07, 2009, 08:11:10 PM »
I want to do some fishing in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness this coming summer, and was wondering what everyone uses or suggests for a rod and reel to pack into the high country. Thanks in advance.

Brandon

i use an ugly stick, semi-cheap pack rod. it breaks into about 1ft sections. it also has the ability to be a fly or a spin rod depending on which way you attach the handle. i just take my everyday reels with me (fly or spin, or both). it was under $30 if i remember right. it does the job.  :twocents:

If I could find a rod that would do both that would be great. Do you get light or medium weight? Also what length would work best?
