Hi all. I just picked up a Ruger Precision Rimfire (I understand the oxymoron there, but I wanted it anyway). I am curious what the rimfire shooters out there like for optics. I mainly run Vortex on my other rifles, and will more than likely stick with that, but I am curious if you guys like higher magnification scopes, and what reticle you prefer. I'm not sure if there is much point in a reticle with MOA hash marks? Thanks in advance for the input!

Nikon Prostaff EFR is what I run on my tactical solutions .22lr and that thing is a tack driver. I highly recommend it!! Worth checking out at least.

I have a Mueller Optics scope on my 10/22. I like it a lot.

I have a Vortex Crossfire 2 in 6×18×44 AO on my CZ Precision and .17HMR have no complaints . The Muellers Jackalope has are also great scopes for the $.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping for. Do you like the 6x18? I am trying to decide what magnification to run, and also what reticle. With that small bullet, I would imagine I am going to want more magnification. Do you guys like a standard duplex reticle? Is there a point in running a MOA reticle for rimfire? I am more of a centerfire shooter, so this is my entry to the world of rimfire.................

Personally with usually a max range of 100 or so yards, I’m a fan of lower power scopes on .22’s. Don’t need the big magnification to shoot under 100 yards. Mine is a 3-10x44. Scopes are different for everybody though. Usually when I’m target shooting I have my spotting scope with me.

The 6×18 is nice to have . I was using 4x12's before these . Even at 18 it's hard to see a .22 hole @ 100yrds ( unless your using the shoot and see targets).

I have two of the USA made Redfield Revolutions on my 22's and they are great scopes for the money. I prefer 3-9 and under for 22 simply because shots will be under 100yards.

Huntin buddy uses a 3x9 Nikon and tells me I need to upgrade. I can still head shoot grouse with a 2.5 weaver. If it works why fix it.

Nikon just released today a P-Tactical Rimfire scope.Pretty cool. 2-7x32 and either a hash marked MOA or BDC 150 reticle. I also a fan of the Target EFR because of the parallax adjustment and 3-9 magnification.

I have the 2-7X32 Nikon P-22 with the Nikoplex reticle. I think they're selling for about $180. Plenty of scope for my 22. Not a huge fan of the reticle but it's a decent scope. It says it's ballistically matched for 22 LR rimfire rifles.

Nikon's new line of scopes just released will have a P-Tactical Rinfire line. MOA and BDC 150 reticle. Still 2-7 magnification settings. Guy's loved the MOA reticle at SHOT Show for this sweet rimfire scope. I have pic's, just haven't downloaded them yet.

I was in the market for a .22 lr scope not to long ago also. Check out the rimfirecentral.com forum. Those guys have tons to say about .22 lr scopes. Sounds like a lot of them really like the Leupold VX-2 3-9x40mm EFR. I almost went that direction but wanted something more compact and lightweight. I got the VX-1 2-7x28mm rimfire and like it a lot. The duplex is really fine and I have been shooting some great 50 yard groups with a CZ 452.

Nikon ProStaff 4x and 6x are excellent scopes.
I use more power on my CZ 452 Varmint and have gotten great performances from Swift Premier. Up to 18x.
BKL rings and mounts have been great, too.

The primary arms rimfire scopes are pretty good with the acss reticle.

One of the take away's for me from SHOT Show was how many guy's like high magnification scope's built for centerfire's. I have used a PROSTAFF 5 3.5-14x40 BDC in first focal plane on my CZ tactical and love it. Even suppressed it is very accurate at 100-150 yards using the BDC reticle.

Definitely best to try and take a look down a few tube's to make sure you are getting the rifght scope for your needs.
