1992 travel trailer "remodel"
« on: February 18, 2018, 06:55:36 PM »
Just wanted to share a little project my wife and I started today.
Trailer is a 1992 29' bunkhouse model. We purchased it from my mom and her husband, who have had it for many years.
It's a little longer then I originally cared for, but it's not that much different then my last rig, and im sure ill be able to drag it wherever I usually go.

Wife wanted something a little nicer, and more modern looking, we both were a little bored and wanted to take on a short project. I didn't get pics of it before we started, but imagine some real awful drapes, and link balances, and you'll get the idea.

So far we've found our paint on clearance, or as mis tints, and have kept the cost under 35$ including prep stuff and a couple new mini rollers. I figure after flooring and everything else, I'll have about 250$ into the project.

As we continue through the next couple weeks I'll update!

Cool thread. Is that a Nash? It looks a lot like our 20' 1995 Nash travel trailer. We have the awesome, I believe its called Teal colored interior which was popular back then.

Has anybody updated the lighting to led's in their older tt?

It isnt a Nash, can't remember off hand what it is.
I just sold a 95 5th wheel, with that glorious teal interior. I'm glad we've grown out of that decorating style as a society lol.

This is going to get a slew of led lights in the next couple weeks. I'm running 2 6volt batteries instead of a 12 volt, and I plan on picking up a small solar panel. Hoping in the warmer months I can get away from using a generator for anything, which honestly should be doable now.

P.o has replaced the rubber roof after he caught it on a branch a couple years ago, no leaks or rot were found at that point. Fridge has a new cooling unit installed 6 months ago. Bearings and brakes were replaced last year, brand new tires followed from my 5th wheel.

Not a ton more that can go wrong that isn't cosmetic, and that's gonna cost about 250$ or so .  :dunno:

Back at the ol camper with the nicer weather being here finally. Started putting down the floor, put up a cheap backsplash, have been cutting/waxing the exterior. Lot of little things to finish, but it's getting close to done!

If the fridge works and no dry rot, you're golden. Good luck.

Fridge got a brand new cooling unit a few months before I bought it, roof was replaced a few years back, and everything feels solid on it. I purchased from family, so I have history in it from new, including the original paperwork.
I imagine we will use it a year or 2, then well pass it on so we can pick up something that will haul a couple quads
