Hi All,
Longrifles inc is having a group buy (Saw it on Snipers Hide).

$25 for bolt fluting.  They do charge now for return shipping ($10.50)

I sent my Rem 700 bolt in, and it was back in 1 week (door to door).  Note: some are complaining about 2 weeks, so I don't know how/if they prioritize things.

I did the pattern "A", High helix.  Std helix doesn't have as tight a twist

My rifle weighs over 11# (plus scope).  I feel pretty good about the 1/2 oz I saved. :chuckle:

I just like the look :IBCOOL:

EDIT: just did the weight calculator he has, and it looks like I saved 1 3/4 oz total.  I can carry 1 extra bullet now

:yeah:

Fluted bolts look much cooler than nonfluted. That alone is worth the price to many. And is good enough reason to do it.  :tup:

I liked fluted bolts. Never did it over weight concerns. I have it done because it looks good. I send my actions off to Kampfeld Custom. I have him TI flute the bolt, install a "Hunter" bolt knob and open my base holes to 8/40.

Sent two bolts off last Friday. 60 bucks to have them do my tikka and Remington. I have been hearing the wait time is a little longer now but I’m sure they are getting swamped with bolts. Still an awesome deal!  :tup:

I've had Karl do quite a few Rem 700 actions and bolts, as well.  Not only is he a really good guy that does great work, but his turn around time is crazy fast.
