I recently purchased a pre owned Rem 700 with some minor blemishes on the bolt but otherwise in very good shape. I've attempted to remedy the issue but without really getting aggressive with sanding, and messing up the factory finish pattern, it's not working so I'm going to have the bolt fluted, skeletonized and bead blasted. Are those of you that sent your bolts to LRI happy with their work?
Another vote for Kampfeld. Had him blueprint my last 700 build , along with flute the bolt , lighten the bolt handle and install a Badger knob. Couldn't be happier.
