Clarify this for me will ya.
If a person has a carry permit does the person have to have the weapon on his person in his vehicle or can it be concealed in the vehicle?

Thanks
John

Also, if you are going to look for a titanium frame...make sure you ask about what kind of mag loads you are able to shoot.  My dad's S & W .44 629 6in., he can shoot anthing ("bear" or "buffalo" loads, 300 grain).  My lighter 629 mountain gun is recommended to not go above 240 grains.
So, make sure the lightweight titaniums can take big loads.
no such worries with a .45 blackhawk and its similar in wieght

For those of you who carry a 357 mag, what loads you use?  I just bought a  Ruger Blackhawk 6 1/2" 357 mag for backup and for general hiking in the mountains.  I usually carry  my Kimber .45 but saw the Ruger and just had to have it.

Buffalo Bore 180gr hardcast.
BTW...a 44 isn't 'stopping' a charging bear until after the damage(to you) has been done.
Same energy as a 30cal carbine.

It can be concealed in your car as well. I have been stopped twice with loaded weapons not on my person, but in the car concealed and no issue's. I suspect if you have passengers, it needs to be in your complete control though.
I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me to.

I know for a fact that in order to have a loaded concealed weapon while driving it must be on your person. If you must leave it in the vehicle it must be locked and out of plain site.

[/quote]be careful quoteing energy figures. They're simply a number dreamed up by ammo companies to sell ammo.

Can you show us the fact? I know for a fact you can. Or 2 cops and a Game warden did not care? And one of those times I had a 357 loaded next to me hidden in the console and Bremerton PD showed with 3 cars and cleared the scene. My gilfriend was in the car and they had no problems. Just asked if they could keep the bullets that were in the gun for there safety. I guess stranger things have happened.

On the other a State Patrol pulled me over for speeding, saw ammo boxes and I had a 44 mag loaded with a 45 acp loaded hidden with about 1000 rounds in the cab. My best friend was right next to me. We drove away with a speeding ticket.

Hunting season, 2 gammies, a 9mm and a 45 under seat. No issue. checked the long guns, dident even want to see the pistols.

well they used their own discretion then, not the RCW :

(2)(a) A person shall not carry or place a loaded pistol in any vehicle unless the person has a license to carry a concealed pistol and: (i) The pistol is on the licensee's person, (ii) the licensee is within the vehicle at all times that the pistol is there, or (iii) the licensee is away from the vehicle and the pistol is locked within the vehicle and concealed from view from outside the vehicle.

It CLEARLY states it right there that you dont have to have it on your person as long as its hidden. How much clearer can it be?

I knew it wasent just "discretion". And I know I've seen the RCW along time ago. Not sure what your reading into it though. But you have it mixed up. Anybody else see something I dont? :dunno:

The best one that I have scene is the Taurus "Judge" 5 or 6 cylinder revolver that shoots .45/.410 shells.  You can pick it up in the titanium, so it's light to pack.  You can use .410 loads with buck shot if need be.  That should stop most aniamals at close range.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!
