Raised cheek piece on rifle
« on: April 05, 2018, 09:57:14 PM »
Looking to raise the comb on my Tikka T3 300 wsm.  I don’t think I need to raise much more than half an inch or so.

I’ve looked at whole new stocks, but would rather not HAVE to spend the money on one. I also don’t really like the idea of having to drill thru my stock to add an adjustable one.

I’ve also looked at  gun stock packs. What’s everyone’s  experiences with one?

https://www.triadtactical.com/Triad-Stock-Pack.html

This one seems to be popular among the internet. ^^ I normally have a sleeve with extra ammo on the butt anyway.

Open to suggestions or ideas. Thanks!

I'm running a Beartooth neoprene on one of my guns and it's been working well for me. Comes with several different height adjustment pads.

Thanks, haven’t seen that one in my searches. Looks really similar to what I use now, but has a comb raising kit. I’ll keep this one in mind. I do kind of like the idea of the pouch on some of these. I always seem to have a shell or two find its way out of the open sleeve style.

I just put a scope eez on my tikka. Check them out on brownells. They are adhesive and $30. I have the beartooth on my slug gun. Both work well the scope eez is just a little more permanent.

You can go really cheap like me with vet wrap and an old mouse pad cut to fit.
Dreams are forever on the mind, realization in the hands.

I have to raise the comb on almost all my rifles.  I use inexpensive butt bags from amazon that have a foam insert or an Uncle Mike elastic cartridge carrier with a piece of neoprene cut from and old pair of waders, one of my target rifles has just a pad cut from a camo set of waders and glued to the stock.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Make mine a Minaska

pipe insulation or a pool noodle with electrical tape. Works pretty well.
