I would think it depends a lot on what bow you shoot and what you see as your limits for shots. My bow shoots about 280 FPS, so not screaming fast, and there's an almost 12" drop from 20-30 yards. If you're shooting a bow with a lot faster speed and your outside limit is 50 yards, a single pin set at 30 might be the way to go. If your outside range is 100 yards, you're going to want multiple pins. I have a 5-pin Gold Rush and love it at the range. But in the woods, there's a lot of thinking when it's shot time and making sure you have the correct pin for the distance.

I switched to single pin adjustable sight last year and I like it. I keep it at 30 when hunting and practice at different distances with it at 30 so I have a good idea of how to compensate if the need arises. Killed a bull last year that I called in but was able to range a spot first, adjust pin and center punch him.

I like the more open site window without all those pins. Takes the guess work out and lets me focus on smooth draw and consistent anchor

I have the same sight and agree that getting the right pin if you aren't on 1 or 5 takes some mental focus.  I'm pretty sure that whatever route I go I'll be wishing I had the other one if I am fortunate to draw on an animal this year.  As of right now, I don't have any business shooting beyond 60 yards, so the 5-pin is probably the best solution.

I’m using a BG 3 pin set 30  40 50works great

Like Vande, I switched to a single pin. My eyes are getting older but I shoot a 70# bow, so I set my pin to 30 yds and never have to move my aiming point out to 30. I can still hit the vitals out to 40 without moving the pin. If you get a longer shot you normally have the time to range it. Great view as well.

I'm using Montana gold 5 pin with micro adjust. 5 pin because I'm shooting heavy arrows, doubt I'll use the dial for hunting, but will for target shooting.  I don't think I can get too far past 100 yards with these FMJ arrows and brass inserts before I'm hitting the bottom of the sight housing

I just ordered a trophy taker option 4. Haven’t received it yet but I have high hopes. I like the ability to be able to flip open my fixed pins and only use my slider. We’ll see how it goes.

So how do you like the option 4?? I almost got a used one awhile back. I have on a react 5 pin but wouldn’t mind having the “option” to dial in longer ranges...
