Caribbean destinations?

The wife and I are looking at taking a trip somewhere and the Caribbean interested both of us.  Who's been? What islands? What did you like/dislike?

Been to most of them. It’s all depends on what you like to do. I love Bonaire and Dominica for diving but there not much else to do. You might consider a cruise from Florida that hits several islands and get the taste of the Carribean. The flights to the islands are expensive.

My family took a Norwegian cruise liner from Florida to St. Thomas, St. Lucia & Nassau.
A full weeks worth of fun & games.
No regrets - we did what they call a free-style cruise.
You eat when and where you want - no table reservations with boring people.
I agree with Stein, I liked them all - wish I could have visited more.

I would not suggest Aruba.

Did Turks and Caicos last year.  Very quiet.  Beautiful beaches and the visibility and snorkeling was amazing.

Definitely do not waste your time with Aruba. Spent 11 days there. Never again

I've done Bermuda, and ST Thomas, Burmuda was the bomb.

Both sides on the tax payers dime, thanks everyone.  :chuckle:

British virgin islands. Many little out islands to visit off both via short boat ride. Personally like Tortola .
Can always visit St johns or St Thomas.
BVI has more laid back feel. Good luck. Any Caribbean is ok in my book.

Just got from Turks and Caicos. Beautiful quiet beaches. Snorkeling and/or diving NOTHING like Bonaire.

St Thomas and St John are amazing. I would skip St Croix for the USVI.

Did you fish while you were down there?

Cruising  in the Caribbean on the new ships is amazingly smooth. Most of the time you can’t even tell you are moving. My wife always got sick on our boat and sometimes even the Wa ferries. She has now done 29 cruises and has only been sick once when we hit a major storm coming back from Alaska.
