Selling photos online

anyone ever try this? I love taking photos and have been looking for a simple way to sell my photos. There is multiple microstock sites and I was curious if anyone has tried any or Visual Society? Thanks!

I'd love to help, but pretty much I'd come off sounding like a jerk, and I really don't want to.

Basically, with the evolution of digital photography and quality of cameras these days available at every Cost-co or even on every Iphone, every Tom Dick and Harry wants to make a buck selling pics.   Its a very difficult game to be involved in and to make a buck at.  Thankfully I'm not in it for the money.  I am lucky enough to have taken enough quality images to have peeked some interest along the way and its always exciting when someone is willing to pay you for your work.  I wish you luck in your endeavor.    Selling stock images is not as easy as it may seem.

Bone summed it up very well.. I’ll add to his though..
 Most guys that make money on a website like you looking into are actually loosing a lot more money than they are bringing in. They are spending money on advertising, business card and a lot of time building clientele.. then getting getting people to purchanse the images you made.. most wont pay what your images are really worth.. they don’t know the time and money you have put in to even get that image.. I have sold more prints over social media and local business then I probably ever would on a stock website.. just my  :twocents: I’m not trying t scare you away from it just giving you pointers and a heads up👍🏼

Also be prepared for stock sites to use language that gives away your photos without further comp.  I have a friend that shoots in Alaska and used to be on a number of sites and my son just bought a poster at Walmart of one of His photos that was uncompensated and sold to a vendor.  After he removed his approval on the site.  Direct is your best friend but price resistance is a thing.

Thanks for the feedback guys I appreciate the honesty. Might just make an etsy or website and sell off that. Not looking to quit my day job thats for sure, just maybe make a few extra bucks.
