Buddy had it a few years ago, he's disabled, couldn't get on a bull, but he did take a cow. I don't know a lot about it, other than they took really good care of him, and made a good effort to get him a cow

I drew one of the 65+ tags in '16 which occured in January '17.  TransAlta really puts forth the effort to help be successful.  All 65+ tags are for antlerless as are the disabled tags.  The only bull tag that has been available is with the Dave Sherwood memorial raffle that TransAlta has offered for 1 branched tag during the regular season, with proceeds going to a scholorship fund.  A very noble cause.  Due to a lack of "trophy quality" bulls they didn't offer it for this or last year.   I've not heard of anyone drawing the tag that wasn't notified early on about the procedures required for this hunt.  My experience was awesome.

I work at TransAlta and help on the hunts. If you draw, you'll get called, and we'll do everything we can to make it an enjoyable weekend and hopefully a successful one. I've been involved with the hunts for 8 years now, and every weekend I've been involved, the hunters have been successful. If you have a gun that is sighted in, you'll be fine. Best of luck. I'll also add, this is for the most part a "road hunt". If you are looking for a remote hunt with packboards involved, this wouldn't be for you. If you want a healthy cow elk, loaded out whole, this hunt would be fitting.

My bad, I could swear he said he had a chance at a bull, but I could be mistaken.

Do you know when and where we will be able to buy raffle tickets this year yet?

Can someone tell me how to contact them? I have seen the property, it's calm, pastoral, and looks to be a great place to hunt coyotes.

I am handicapped from service related medical issues, thus the open, easily tracked land is appealing.

Please P/M me.
