WY Unit 17 Antelope
« on: May 28, 2018, 07:30:47 PM »
I'm putting in for this unit as a 2nd choice because I want to hunt antelope now while trying to build points for one of the trophy units.
Unit 17 is 100% draw and has both buck and doe tags, but has extremely limited public access. I've never hunted in WY or antelope, so it's all new to me and I'm learning as I go along.  I spoke with both the local warden and the biologist, but neither could steer me one way or another. I've done some research on public land with access, but it seems to only be a few areas pretty far and between.
If anyone has hunted antelope in Unit 17, has a landowner list or has any tips they don't mind sharing, please feel free to PM me. Thanks in advance!

Are there better units to look at for 2nd choice draw options?

I hunted this unit, year before last, and just sent you a PM.  Oh and I would also love to hear what anyone else said about it. I am still new to the WY hunting, but having a blast, exploring and learning new areas. Have fun.

I drove through WY a couple weeks ago. Antelope everywhere. Don't know if it was public or private, but there are a bunch of them there.
