GMU 506 Willapa Hills
How often do people see Bulls over to 270" during the archery season in public land. I only see one or two each season during the archery season. ( during the archery season on public land) private property off season it does not count

Over 270”? Once every decade or so. If you got a spot in 506 seeing a few I wouldn’t change a thing.

If the spot you are seeing only one or two bulls over 270" does happen to be in 506, I sure wouldn't be posting anything on here!

I see zero bulls over 270 in the 506... ever. Sure there is probably a few out there but the majority of herd bulls in most of 506 or 530 for that matter are going to be closer to 200” than 250”  :twocents:

I've hunted that unit for 12 years or so. I've probably seen 2 or 3 that would break 250 but wouldn't touch 270. Always have archery hunted it and took one that went 246. Sounds like you've found yourself a honey hole seeing multiple 270 bulls!

I'm there every year and the only bulls I see close to that are in the refuge. And I'm not by any means a person who knows anything about scoring but I'd say the big ones I've seen in there were probably in the 250 range + or - 50 inches given the excitement of finally seeing a bull and for it being from the highway when they're tucked all the way back in there. But even then it's been a while since I've seen one of that caliber in there. In the wild I haven't seen anything close to 270 yet, been hunting it since 2008.

Used to be . Hoof rot cleaned them all out, no Elk left. Time to buy an east side tag.
