Yamahas any good?

Anyone out there have any experience with the Yamaha side by side? Yamaha is the only one I havent researched. Talked to a guy yesterday in Pend Oreille county who had a Can Am and got rid of it for a Yamaha 700?

I had a yamaha grizzley 660 quad years ago and absolutely loved it.  Can't speak for the SxS though.

Ive been looking at the wolverine x4 with full cab.  Seems like a nice sxs.

I didn't like how small the Wolverine bed was and the fact it's captain chairs only in the front.
Honda 1000-5 with the pop up seats in the back is my 2 cents.
3 fit comfortably in the front with a full box or add the 2 extra seats in the back for other times.
I love it and for me it was worth the extra coin.

We have two Yamaha Viking VI and one Yamaha Rhino, all extremely reliable. One of the Vikings has close to 2000 miles on tracks and not a single issue, the other Viking has 5000 miles on tires, had to replace one front axle boot, otherwise no issue. The Rhino has had a voltage regulator, stator, and I think we did brakes on it, all typical repairs, no problems with engine, tranny, etc. We have a Kodiak with the 700 engine too. My next machine will probably be a standard Viking for 3, I'm hoping they offer their newer 1000 motor in the Vikings before I buy. Their 700 engine is an excellent motor, but it would be nice to have a 1000 in a Viking with tracks.

I have heard of some transmission issues when using tracks on the honda 1000, otherwise I've heard all good. Heard mostly good on CanAM and Kawasaki. I wished i didn't have to say it, but avoid Polaris and Arctic Cat and you'll probably be fine with anything else. Some of them run fine but there are more problems with either Polaris or AC than all the others put together. If you have doubts talk to a service manager in a shop that sells multiple brands. 

Since we got rid of all our Polaris and AC, I haven't had to walk out of the mountains! We used to have 1 or 2 machines in the shop every fall and again in the winter, crazy, all those problems are gone now.

DO NOT Get a CAN AM sxs. I bought a new 800 DPS and it got so hot in the summer I could not use it. I sold it and bought a Can am 500 XT quad, in fact 2 of them. Nice ride, but not a sxs.


Fast forward: I belong to a sxs group here in Arizona and only have 2 members that have the Yamahas. Everybody owns a RZR out of 20-30 sxs's if that tells you anything. They do not get hot. I went out in mine today in the desert with no issues of being too hot to enjoy.
