Wireless Trail Camera Warning

I'm a HUGE fan of the Spartan wireless trail cameras.  However, DO NOT buy any of the Spartan cameras in the Verizion 3G wireless version.  I have seen a couple of outfits recently putting them on sale, $100 off the normal price.  Wow great right, WRONG!  There is no mention in the sale adds that Verizion 3G cameras MUST be activated and in use on or before 30 Jun 2018 or they will NEVER be activated AND come Dec 31st, 2019 they will no longer work, period.  Verizion is shutting down that network.  I've asked Spartan if there is a work around, but have not received a response as of yet.  So in other words if you have the Verizion 3G camera after 31 Dec 2019, you have a $450ish regular trail camera.

From Spartan:  Exactly like cellular phones, everyone on the Verizon network with ANY 3g device will lose their service dec 31, 2019 and their device will not be upgradeable, this is not limited to cellular trail cameras but tablets, phones, vehicles, etc. We were just provided with the date and have hustled to get the info out as fast as possible. Technology moves extremely fast. We attempt to keep up so customers are getting the best products possible. We were the first with a 4g camera. First to transmit video. First to have HD download, etc. We’re also the first to break this news to our customers. We will continue to lead the way with cellular camera technology and unfortunately along the way some technology will become outdated.
